Recognition and accreditation – Expertise and Quality at ISP GmbH
Recognition and accreditation are essential to demonstrate that we, as a testing laboratory, provide high-quality and expert services. Accreditation by sports associations allows us to test sports facilities or sports equipment for their suitability for a particular sport. Quality Assurance recognition certifies that we are authorised by other institutions to carry out the necessary tests as a professionally recognised laboratory. Both recognition and accreditation are very important to us at ISP GmbH – Institut für Sportstättenprüfung.
Accreditation
We are accredited by the following sports associations:
World Athletics (formerly known as IAAF)
World Athletics, the international governing body for athletics, has introduced a certification system for synthetic tracks and other sports surfaces. The requirements are set out in the 'Track and Runway Synthetic Surface Testing Specifications', drawn up by World Athletics itself. The specifications cover not only the 400m track, but also other synthetic surfaces of a facility, such as long jump, pole vault, high jump or javelin runways. In addition to synthetic surfaces, complete track and field facilities and testing laboratories are also certified by World Athletics. ISP GmbH – Institut für Sportstättenprüfung has been awarded such a certificate and is therefore qualified to professionally test your synthetic surface facility and athletics track for compliance with World Athletics specifications.

FIBA - International Basketball Federation
The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has drawn up a comprehensive set of rules that specify requirements and test methods for the equipment and facilities used to practise the sport. The rules and regulations contain clear specifications, requirements and characteristics for the equipment and the sports hall itself that must be adhered to. These are set out in the ‘FIBA Approval Programme for Basketball Equipment - Handbook of Test Methods and Requirements’. A separate chapter entitled ‘Wooden & Synthetic Flooring’ deals with sports hall flooring. ISP GmbH – Institut für Sportstättenprüfung is a FIBA-accredited testing laboratory for sports hall flooring suitable for basketball in accordance with FIBA guidelines.

IFA – International Fistball Association
Fistball is a popular sport in German-speaking countries in which two teams try to hit a ball over a net and into the opponent's field in such a way that it cannot get returned. Unlike the very similar game of volleyball, however, the ball may be hit with the fist of one arm only, there are fixed positions for the players and the court is slightly larger (indoors it is the size of a handball court). The International Fistball Association (IFA) specifies the quality and technical characteristics of sports hall flooring.
ISP GmbH – Institut für Sportstättenprüfung is an IFA-accredited laboratory qualified to determine and certify whether a sports hall is suitable for fistball competitions.

World Curling
Curling has been an Olympic sport for many years. Two teams take turns ‘curling’ large granite stones across a sheet of ice towards a target area, and the team whose stones are closest to the centre of the target area wins the round. In addition to the stones and the ice curling sheet, special brooms are used to sweep the ice in front of the stone in order to influence its speed and direction. The World Curling Federation has special requirements for these brooms.
ISP GmbH – Institut für Sportstättenprüfung is a laboratory accredited by the World Curling Federation to test the suitability of special brooms for curling.
