ISP GmbH is responsible for testing the technical functionality of sports facilities from a sports and safety perspective in accordance with the relevant national and international standards, the specifications of sports associations and general guidelines. Furthermore, the company tests whether playground safety surfacing meets the relevant standards. Existing damage to sports and play facilities will be assessed and, if requested, also the need for renovation will be determined.

In addition, the company supports industrial customers in product development and simultaneously supervises product quality on the market through quality monitoring. ISP GmbH also develops and assesses testing methods and devices to reflect the current state of the art. The institute is furthermore involved in the standardisation work at both German (DIN) and European (CEN TC) level.

The company's customers are, primarily, industrial companies, i.e. national and international manufacturers of individual components and installation elements for indoor and outdoor sports facilities and for safety surfacing for playgrounds, and, additionally, operators and users of such facilities, including public administrations, institutions, authorities and associations.
