IAKS Outdoor Symposium

The International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS) is a non-profit association that deals with sports buildings, their equipment and leisure facilities. Within the association, there are regional and national sections. The German section organises a wide range of training opportunities on various topics. One of these is the Outdoor Symposium, where the infrastructure of modern sports facilities, trend sports and exercise in public spaces play an important role. This event takes place at different locations. The next date is 28 and 29 January 2026 in Bochum. The focus is on innovative ways to make sports facilities climate-proof, including a tour of the Lohrheidestadion, which has been redesigned with climate resilience in mind. FLL Symposium ‘Safe Playgrounds – Standards, Practice, Future’

The Research Association for Landscape Development and Landscaping (FLL) and Playground@Landscape are hosting a joint symposium entitled ‘Safe Playgrounds – Standards, Practice, Future’ at the Westfälischer Industrieklub Dortmund on 4 February 2026.

The event will focus on current developments and issues relating to playground safety. In addition to legal aspects, new approaches from research and practice will also be presented. Topics include the revised DIN 79161 standard for the qualification of playground inspectors, traffic safety, the use of plants in playgrounds, inclusion and the ageing of fall protection surfaces. Participants can expect a varied programme with specialist presentations, discussion panels and an accompanying exhibition.

ISP GmbH will also be represented with a contribution: Dennis Frank, our managing director, will give a presentation on the topic of ‘When fall protection surfaces age – practical evaluation and research findings on the ageing of playground surfaces’. Annual Conference of the ADS

Since 1949, the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Sportämter e.V. (ADS) has been a joint committee in which municipal sports offices can communicate and receive further training. Every year, an annual conference lasting several days is held at different locations. There are lectures, panel discussions and workshops on current topics, as well as a small accompanying trade fair. The next conference will take place from 22 to 24 April 2026 in Willingen. ESTC Congress

The European Synthetic Turf Council (ESTC) is a trade association for the artificial turf industry in the EMEA region. The association aims to strengthen cooperation, address current issues, promote and develop the interests of the industry, and advocate on its behalf. It also aims to connect members with end users, sports associations and legislators. The association holds an annual congress at different locations. Sportplatzwelt LIVE

For many years, the specialist media outlet Stadionwelt has been covering the planning, construction, equipment and operation of professional sports and event venues. For municipal and popular sports, there is also the Sportplatzwelt portal. In addition to an online portal and online events, since 2023 it has also been organising a face-to-face event that serves as an industry gathering, offering lectures and live discussions on site. The next event is scheduled for 23 June 2026 in Cologne (STRASSENKICKER BASE).

GaLaBau Trade Fair

As the leading "green" trade fair for garden, landscape, playground, and sports field construction, GaLaBau in Nuremberg has been a fixture for all representatives of these industries for many years. Urban green spaces and open areas play a particularly important role at the event. On an exhibition area of ​​over 60,000 m², around 1,100 exhibiting companies recently presented their products and services to more than 65,000 trade visitors. From construction machinery and planting solutions to artificial turf for sports fields, playground equipment, and impact-absorbing materials – the GaLaBau trade fair offers a wide range of products and services in its exhibition halls. The four days of the fair are complemented by numerous activities and events organized by partner associations, as well as informative on-site forums, such as the lecture series of the German Federal Association for Garden, Landscape, and Sports Field Construction (BSFH). From September 15 to 18, 2026 – for the first time from Tuesday to Friday – GaLaBau will once again open its doors to visitors.

Sportinfra

Every two years, the Landessportbund Hessen (Hesse State Sports Federation) invites visitors to a two-day symposium with an accompanying sports facilities trade fair at the federation's sports and training centre in Frankfurt am Main. Visitors can attend lectures and presentations on the planning, equipping and maintaining sports facilities of all kinds in several parallel specialist forums. There is also a trade exhibition with around 70 exhibiting companies. The event is supposed to provide a diverse platform for the exchange of information, advice and dialogue.
